Questions:
1. What happens if Aeroflot changes its chedules before our trip?
2. Book hotels in advance in Helsinki (Sept 23,24) and London (Sept 25, 28)
3. Request specific hotels in USSR.
4. Book Tallinn→Helsinki steamer. Price? Customs?
5. If we are on a 6-hour flight at night, do we have to pay for a hotel room?
6. What are the motels like, compared to the hotels?
7. If you rent a car in various places for a few days each, totalling 11 days,
do you pay only the 11-day rate or do you have to pay the 1-10-day rate?
Must you drive the car from the airport, or can you get it at your hotel?
8. How much is the fare from Ashkhabad to Samarkand (my estimate: 16 Roubles)?
9. It turns out (for 2 people or more) to be cheaper to rent a car than to not
rent one! Should we arrange to rent a car in each city, even if we don't
think we'll drive too much? Are the hotel rooms any worse, or the assignment
of hotels any worse, to motorists than to non-motorists? Why the reduction?
10. From our home base at Tbilisi (Sept 3-7) we may want to make an outing to
another city (e.g., train to Batumi and back that nite). Is this allowed?
Can it be a spur of the moment decision, or must it be planned over here?
